NBA stars and their dogs

alt : http://www.youtube.com/v/0lXNPvpMKOY&rel=1

Well, it is not surprising for NBA stars to have amazing dogs. Aside from the fact that they have the time to play around with their dogs, they have the money to spend on buying and taking care of an expensive pet.

Like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, who seem to travel with their tiny dogs, I think NBA players also would love to go to different playing venues with their dogs, and have their dogs cheering for them. hahaha Of course most hotels do not allow pets inside their area. Some don’t even allow pets even in the parking lot. Well, in the US there must be a pet friendly hotel were the players can board their dogs and other pets. Moreover, wouldn’t it be amazing if there is a hotel exculsively for pets!?! I’m thinking of dogs, cats, even snakes staying in a classy single room with all then fixtures and facilities! I bet, the price of stay is more expensive for the animals than the normal hotels for people. hahaha

My pet dog named “Bunsoy,” from the root word “Bunso,” meaning youngest is a mix of dashchund and a breed of sorts. I’m sure he’ll be jumping and running up and down if ever he gets a taste of a pet friendly hotel. Here in Davao, I don’t think there will never be pet friendly hotels. The most there will be is exclusive arrangements between the hotel and the guests regarding bringing in their favorite pets!

On athlete’s millions

http://www.netnax.net/imgs/bkgs/nfl/bkg_nfl_chargers2.gifhttp://photos.signonsandiego.com/gallery1.5/albums/chargers-patriots/CHARGERS3.jpg

Like any other NFL players, the players of the Sand Diego Chargers now have that flashy SUV, sporty sedan, 3-storey crib with fantastic backyard, and live the life of a multi-millionaire! Same goes for NBA players with multi-million dollar contracts like Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs, Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers, Lebron James of the Cavs, and even the veteran, Eddie Jones now with the Mavs.

I consider these athletes as the luckiest men on earth in terms of job and earnings! Imagine, by just playing the sport that you love ever since you were a kid is the one that gives you millions of money!?! wOw! that is heaven! On the other hand, these athletes should learn how to handle their earnings and resources. They should be wise in spending and investing their money. They cannot just rely on their monthly salaries and disregard saving for the future.  A number of athletes turned from gold to stones because of mismanagement of resources. Some got hooked with gambling and other vices and suddenly had problems with their career which eventually lead to depletion of income and resources. San Diego incorporation is just one of the many institutions serves to help people and groups manage their resources and companies. Any player who invests his money in corporations and other groups should be aware of his legal rights and obligations and other matters concerning his investment in a company. Consulting firms and other departments is truly important.

It is a nightmare for every player when by the end of his career, the only thing that’s left will be the memories of his glorious days. No money, no car, no house, no nothing.

Get a mouth piece!

I wonder how it feels like wearing a mouth piece or mouth guard. We always see athletes wear such protective gear especially boxers. Professional basketball players also wear mouth piece although I think it’s not really a must in basketball unlike boxing and other highly physical sports. As I see players wearing mouth piece, I feel like it is very uncomfortable. Well, I guess I should go to a shop and test one. hahahaha

Without protective gears for the mouth, at some point in his/her career, the player would really have to visit Long Island cosmetic dentist to have their teeth or mouth treated. Dental care is very important for everyone, not just for the athletes. It becomes more important for athletes who endorse world-class products like Michael Jordan for Nike, Kevin Garnett for Adidas and other athlete turned big-time product endorsers. Michael Jordan can always afford to have  big bright smile in photos and interviews because he has a shiny-white, good looking set of teeth.

A physical sport is truly enjoyable and more exciting to watch. However, it is very important to ensure the player’s safety and wellness. That is why it is a must to require every player complete protective gears. In this way, the threats of minor or career-ending injuries will be lessen. I’ll make a follow-up post on this one by the time that I have tried wearing a mouth piece. So stay tune. hehe

UE falters

This must be the most frustrating and devastating defeat for the University of the East Red Warriors basketball team and for the UE community in general. After a flawless stint in the elimination round (14-0), the Red Warriors suffered back-to-back loses in the best of 3 finals against the Green Archers. The Archers snatched the UAAP season 70 crown via a 73-64 victory.

It’s a heartbreaking moment for UE’s head coach Dindo Pumaren, being beatin by his elder brother. “I won several championships in the past but it is bittersweet for me because I know now how it feels to beat your brother,” said Pumaren, also a Quezon City councilor. “If I can share half of our trophy, I can give it to UE because they also deserve it.”

I think, the 21-day break for the Warriors wasn’t healthy for the teams mentality and emotional status. While La Salle on the other hand, after squeeking past the best of 4, gained superb confidence going into the finals. The Warriors weren’t able to overcome their fate in game 1 of the finals were they bowed to the Archers,63-64. The Warriors had 21 turnovers in the 2nd game compared to their 31 in game 1. But UE gave up 28 fouls, allowing the Archers to visit the line for 27/36 shots. La Salle only gave up 18 fouls the entire game, translated into 5/14 shooting from the free throw line. This only shows that the Warriors were unable to establish their inside game.

TY Tang, Cholo Villanueva, and Javee Casio proved to everybody that more than talent and skills, experience is a vital element in winning championships.

The scores:

DLSU (73) – Casio 17, Villanueva 14, Maierhofer 11, Tang 8, Co 6, Barua 6, Malabes 5, Cua 2, Mangahas 2, Walsham 2, Atkins 0, Ferdinand 0.

UE (64) – Borboran 12, Lee 12, Gregorio 11, Cañizares 8, Martinez 8, Arellano 5, Espiritu 5, Fampulme 3, Lingganay 0, Bandaying 0, Llagas 0, Thiele 0.

Congrats to DLSU for grabbing the crown and congrats to UE for a good fight.

The best thing about tennis

I’m not really into tennis. I’ve tried the sport once, and I must say it is not as easy as what you see on t.v. It requires strength, agility, and intelligence! So for me, these are the only good things in tennis. Cool

Will to Win- BARRERA vs PACQUIAO II

Who will win in this dog fight? Will the 33 year-old Barrera get the better of 29 year-old Pacquiao?

The image “http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u185/anitokid/12-5.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Pacquiao, as usual is throwned with controversies before his fight. One is regarding his training in Cebu instead of training fully in L.A. Pacquiao insisted to train in Cebu despite of Roach’s resistence. Of course, during his training in Cebu there were a lot of distractions which even ignited Roach to react about the situation.

Of course being a Filipino, I am in favor of Pacman. I think he’ll knock out Barrera in round 5. Beyond round 7, it will go to the scorecards which doesn’t favor Pacquiao.

However, at this point, all praises for Pacquiao from Roach. Let’s throw away the stat sheets and chitchats. The two warriors will state everything when the bell rings for round 1 of Sunday’s one and only fight that matters.

Warriors VS Archers

It’s RED vs GREEN in the UAAP Season 70 Senior’s Basketball (men) Finals. Will the Red Warriors remain unbeaten for the entire season? Or will the Green Archers finally paint a stain on UE’s flawless record?

Aside from this considerations, it is interesting to note that the finals will also be a battle between the Pumaren brothers, coach Dindo of UE and coach Franz of DLSU. I wonder how their family will deal with the match. hehehe Franz of course is a highly respected coach in UAAP and definitely no stranger to UAAP Finals. Experience wise, Franz has the edge. However, Dindo Pumaren at his 4th year of coaching UE is perhaps at the peak of his coaching career. More importantly, as he reaches his peak, the team grew-up with him and now, UE squad is at its peak. Roster wise, the UE owns the advantage. They have a more forbidable line-up especially in terms of depth in the bench. Despite that, you can never count out DLSU. La Salle is a team that strikes under pressure. Although noted as highly favored team, I think DLSU is at its best when playing as “underdogs.”

Like the ADMU-DLSU battle, the games will boil down to execution in the last seconds of the game. Defense and execution will be the name of the game. The men will shin over the boys. Expect the veterans to lead their respective teams.

In terms of the front-line,  UE has the advantage. Simply because UE’s big men namely, Borboran, Espiriti, Thiele, Llagas are very agile. Despite of their size, these men can run down the court for transition baskets. These big men also have the experience to play under pressure. On the other side, the front line of DLSU composed of Wallsham, Ferdinand, Co, Maierhoffer, is full of youth and inexperience.

On the backcourt, I would give the edge to La Salle. With TY Tang, Villanueva and Casio leading the pack, DLSU will always have an explosive backcourt team-up. UE’s Martinez and Arellano must play extra defense to stop the firepower of DLSU’s trio.

There’s nothing like college ball so better watch out for UAAP Finals showdown!

Archers takes down the Eagles

Finally the 2007 showdown of deep rivals, Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle Green Archers ended last Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum. Chris Tiu wasn’t “Tiu” good during their last match. For me, only Baclao and Salamat played well on the Eagles side. However, credit La Salles defense on Tiu, and its overall defense despite of being undersized down low. Ford Arao was unable to assert his presence in the middle. The Archers clogged the drop passes on the Ateneo’s big men. Salamat’s drive were only good in the first quarter and a few times the rest of the game. It was La Salle’s team defense and Villanueva’s heroics that dictated the game.

On the other hand, it was a total team effort for La Salle. Their main gunner, Jayvee Casio wasn’t shooting as sweet as he can. In the 4th quarter, it was the veteran Cholo Villanueva who spelled the difference for La Salle. Villanueva knocked in cruical baskets including a much needed 3-point shoot to break the wings of the soaring Eagles.

With the victory, La Salle meets the unbeaten University of the East Warriors. Looking back at the eliminations, only DLSU had the  widest chance to beat the Warriors, if not only for Casio’s two missed freethrows.

Giants over SMB

The Giants won over the San Miguel Beermen to the tune of 105-90. The two unbeaten teams met last 28th of September 2007 at the San Juan arena.

Image

First of all, I guess I should say that I am a fan of Purefoods.hehehe Why? No particular reason. It’s a surprising victory for the Giants because they were up against the much favored Beermen. SMB’s roster this year is the deepest, most-talented, and experienced roster in the PBA. The Beermen is headed by high-flying Danny Seigle, bigmen, Enrico Villanueva, Pena, Ildefonso and backourt-generals, LA Tenorio, Hontiveros and Olsen Racela. In their bench resides, Gabby Espinas, Wesley Gonzales, newly acquired gunner Larry Fonacier, Lordy Tugade, Chris Calaguio, Willie Wilson and quality rookies Eman and Jonas Villinueva. What a line-up. All players can be part of the best-5 of the other teams. Purefoods is not even close to the depth of the San Miguel Beermen line-up. I think the closest to SMB is Talk n Text Phone Pals with Asi Taulava, Jimmy Alapag, and gunner Renren Ritualo.

Congrats to the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants. I hope they will perform well when the regular season comes.

For the golfers

Golf isn’t really one of my interests. However, I envy golf players simply because I find golf a classic game for the elite. I admire good golf players and I pitty those who are trying to act like one.

Well for golfers, I bumped into this site offering high-quality golf_clubs at very reasonable prices. You can easily find a club that will fit your preference and budget with their long list of items each with specific brands and price range. The site is very user-friendly.It displays different categories of golf clubs from price range, brands, and even gender.

Maybe it’s time for me try out golf. It’s an open sport anyway. You just have to practice and lear. It is good that we this websites that promotes golf and makes it easy for us to appreciate and learn the sport.
